CITIZEN WATCHES

The year was 1924 and there was a new kid on the block of time making and it would be called Citizen. The company got its name because it quickly after inception became “Close to the hearts of people everywhere.”

What is phenomenal is that Citizen, since the year 1986, has held the title of the world’s largest watchmaker. Citizen is also recognized as an innovator and leader in the technology in the world of watches. They are responsible for the worlds first dive watch with a depth sensor on it, the worlds first voice recognition watch and the world’s slimmest LCD watch.

Not to be out done, Citizen has more recently pioneers the development of light powered watches which require no battery source and that is a great thing for the environment because it can run on anything from natural to artificial light and Citizen has several models available with this technology from elegant to deep sea diving models.

Another huge development for Citizen was the worlds first radio controlled atomic timekeeping watch named the Skyhawk A-T.
